The How To & Why of Breathing & Yoga

The word “yoga” is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning “union.” That can be the union of many things, but at the top of the list is “body and breath.” Breathing is critical to all of the activities in this series, but I dare say that proper breathing is most important in yoga if you want to maximize the benefits of your practice. You’ve no doubt heard a lot about needing to “live in the present,” and paying attention to your breath is a wonderful way to do just that.
